Sermon and Discussion Guide – 06.21.20

Spend 10-15 Min Catching up on Life:
– What are some highs and lows from this past week? What is something God has shown or taught you?
Read Phil. 4:10-20 and Discuss the Following Questions:
1. Why do you think Paul considers it a “secret” to learn to be content in times of abundance and times of need (vs. 12)?

2. How have you seen Phil. 4:13 misapplied? Taken in context of the passage, how is being strengthened in Christ to “do all things” better?

3. What are some of the dangers associated with living in times of plenty? In times of need? How is God’s grace needed to navigate both well?

4. How can we practically learn contentment in Christ? What steps are necessary on my part to begin that journey?

5. Considering verse 18, how should we view giving in support of Gospel ministry? Receiving?

6. What are the God-given resources that you have stewardship over? What are some practical ways you can use them for the advancement of the Gospel?

7. How can you respond in a specific timely way to the truths of this passage? Who are you aiming to share with? Pray for opportunities.
