– What are some highs and lows from this past week? What is something God has shown or taught you?

Read 1 Thess 2:1-8 and Discuss the Following Questions:
1. What are some positive characteristics the image of mothers bring up? Fathers? How do these help inform discipleship and mission?
2. What do you think it means and entails to gladly “share not only the gospel but also our own selves (lives, souls)”?
3. What role does character play in Paul’s view of ministry and discipleship?
4. Contrast the implications of “the word of men” vs. “the word of God”. Why did this matter so much to Paul for discipleship and mission?
5. What are some similarities & differences between a learning-based discipleship and relational discipleship? Learning and obedience based?
6. How do we fall into sharing man’s words/ideas vs. God’s? How can make sure we are discipling people to God’s words vs our ideas?
7. How can you respond in a specific timely way to the truths of this passage? Who are you aiming to share with? Pray for opportunities.
